Our Mission

Finding a trustworthy contractor in rural Maine or New Hampshire is harder than it should be. National lead-gen platforms flood inboxes with out-of-state referrals. Local word-of-mouth works, but not everyone has it.

CVS Contracting was built to close that gap: a directory of real, rated local contractors, organized by service and city, with transparent cost data so you know what a fair price looks like before you call anyone.

How We Vet Listings

Every listing in our directory goes through the same process:

  • Real business data only. Listings are sourced from verified public business records. We never fabricate names, addresses, or contact details.
  • Ratings threshold. Only businesses with a Google rating of 3.5 or higher and at least 3 verified reviews are included. No reviews, no listing.
  • Transparent cost data. All cost ranges are sourced from HomeAdvisor, Angi, and Thumbtack regional data for ME and NH and cited by source on every page.
  • No paid placement. Listing order reflects ratings and review count, not ad spend. Affiliate links are disclosed on every page and in our affiliate disclosure.

How It Works

  1. 1

    Search by service and city

Browse contractor listings with real ratings, review counts, addresses, and phone numbers for your specific city in Maine or New Hampshire.

  2. 2

    Request free quotes

Click "Get Free Quotes" to request estimates from multiple local contractors through our affiliate partners Angi and HomeAdvisor.

  3. 3

    Compare and hire

Compare quotes against the cost ranges we publish, check references, and hire the contractor that fits your project and budget. We recommend getting at least 3 written estimates.

Editorial Standards

Our cost guides and how-to content are written and reviewed by David Campbell and the CVS Contracting editorial team. Cost figures are cross-referenced against at least two sources (HomeAdvisor, Angi, or Thumbtack) before publication and updated when regional data changes.

We do not publish specific licensing or certification claims about individual contractors without verified information. We do not fabricate statistics. If we cite a number, we name the source.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does CVS Contracting vet contractors?

All listings are sourced from verified public business data. Each company must have a Google rating of 3.5 or higher and at least 3 verified reviews to appear on the site. We never fabricate ratings, reviews, or contact details. Affiliate links are clearly disclosed.

Does CVS Contracting employ the contractors listed?

No. CVS Contracting is an independent directory and referral service. We do not employ, endorse, or guarantee the work of any listed contractor. Always verify licensing, insurance, and references directly with the contractor before hiring.

Where do cost estimates come from?

All cost ranges are sourced from HomeAdvisor, Angi, and Thumbtack regional averages for Maine and New Hampshire. The source is cited on every cost section. These are estimates: actual prices vary by project size, soil type, access, and contractor.
